Where Have You Been?

That's a good question. Thank you if you've been wondering. My last blog post was February 7, 2024. What gives? Let's put it this way: every year I buy a Christmas ornament to represent that year in some way, first Christmases or special vacations, etc. The ornament I got to represent 2024? A poop emoji ornament (yes, they actually do make them).

A family crisis stole my attention for the better part of 2024. On January 28, 2024, my family's lives changed forever. Aging parents is not for the faint of heart - that's for sure. It's been struggle after struggle throughout the year, and in the middle of it all, I had clients that were counting on me to do the job they hired me to do. So, you've gotta prioritize.

Despite the chaos behind the scenes, very few clients knew how it was all falling apart. I quickly realized how limited the hours available in one day can be. From the beginning of time, you only get 24 hours in one day. That's it. My priorities needed a BIG adjustment.

Between family and clients, both were equally important and I was not going to let them down. But, remember those 24 hours? Writing blog posts and posting Motivational Mondays with the College Driven Corgi just never made it to my daily To Do's list. I ran out of time.

If I learned anything from 2024, it's that prioritizing is critical for living a sane life, with or without dealing with a crisis. How do you prioritize? See what's fruitful! If it's not bearing fruit, cut it out of your life! This goes for those school clubs, sports, activities, music lessons, debate tournaments, AP-everything. STOP! Re-evaluate where you commit your time. If you suddenly had a crisis that disrupted your life, what would you have time for, what would you keep on your To Do's list? Now, go with that, and release what you feel lukewarm about. You may even free up enough time to discover something even more fruitful of your time that you never would have had the time to discover before. Examine your fruit! It can make life so much sweeter.
